Following the government's decision to transfer utility services previously provided by Fenaka Corporation to State Electric Company Limited (STELCO), STELCO’s Managing Director, Dr. Ali Azwar, accompanied by senior company executives, visited Fuvahmulah City on 18 October to formally initiate the handover process.
During the visit aimed at officially taking over electricity services in the city, the Managing Director and the executive delegation inspected the local powerhouse to assess its current condition. They also held discussions with the technical team to identify the ongoing challenges faced by residents and explore immediate solutions to resolve them.
As part of the official transition, Dr. Azwar and the senior leadership met with local powerhouse employees that evening. Addressing the staff, the Managing Director highlighted STELCO’s long and proud track record of public service delivery, urging employees to maintain consistent, high-standard services for the community.
Furthermore, Dr. Azwar called on the staff to uphold work ethics and professional conduct in line with STELCO's standards, emphasizing the importance of fully adhering to the company’s established policies and regulations.
