The agreement was officially signed on 27 October 2026. State Minister Ismail Hameed signed on behalf of the Ministry of Housing, Land and Urban Development, while Deputy Managing Director Mohamed Jamsheed represented MTCC.
Under the agreement, MTCC has been contracted to complete the harbour and jetty development within 540 days.

– Dredging and deepening the entrance channel and the harbour basin
– Building breakwaters and groynes to protect the harbour from rough waves
– Installing revetments on both sides of the harbour to prevent sand erosion
– Constructing a sturdy quay wall and a boat ramp
– Building a concrete jetty dedicated to small dinghies
